Jump!
A new friend of mine took me to church on Sunday as our car is being mended following a slight argument with the gatepost 🙁 As we chatted, my friend told me about her husband’s parachute jump the day before.
One of the party of jumpers took a long time to appear back on the ground and there was a bit of concern as to where she was. Apparently, she had got into the air and then felt anxious and had asked to be flown down. Unfortunately for her, she was in a plane that had no seats. She was told that it was not safe to land with her just sitting on the floor of the plane. The only way down was out of the aeroplane, and strapped to an instructor.
As Jo shared this with me, I felt a deep sense in my spirit that this is EXACTLY what my Father has recently done with me. He has taken me to a new place and the only way down is to strap myself to Him and free-fall. There is no option of sitting down and ‘sitting it out’. That is not what He requires of me.
What He wants is for me to trust in Him for the timing, the fall and the landing. Being so out of control is not my thing. Its not what I relish! But I am learning this is what God is asking of me right now.
Maybe you are being asked to jump into the unknown too?
