Sent off
I spent two hours in my new prayer room today. Well, room is a strong word for what it is. It is really a swept clean space in our very cold and still a tad damp cellar.
Jon literally ‘sent’ me there. I have been saying for a few days now that I need to pray more. The school holidays is always a tough time to be disciplined about my prayer times… But, excuses aside, it was abundantly clear that I needed some serious time with Father. In fact, I said to Jon as I sat heavily on our sofa just before the ‘sending out’ occurred, “I think I may blow at any minute!” I didn’t even know why…
So I went down and spent a bit of time just getting some stuff off my chest and committing a few things to God. Whilst wearing a woolly coat and scarf. Of course.
I had a wonderful but simple picture/vision whilst I was there. I ‘saw’ an Angel standing behind me, just placing his (or should it be capital H?) hands on my shoulders. Clearly he didn’t mind about the coat. Or the scarf. Or the fluffy slippers. At least, not that he said. He didn’t say anything actually. I didn’t feel a physical sensation of his touch or anything… I just knew an angel was there. It was lovely. Just peaceful and comforting. I breathed more deeply as I felt both heard and understood. I didn’t feel the need to list my grievances or concerns. I knew they were just known in the heavenly realms.
One of the things I was praying for was a specific person who I have felt at odds with a bit. Not with any good, proper, reasonable, grown up, logical reason. Just my mind playing tricks I think. As I prayed, that particular person texted me a beautiful, encouraging word. I smiled.
Praying is amazing. Not only does it make you warmer – FACT- it can really change your whole week.
Here’s to my new prayer room and my new-found friend. (Who has yet to introduce himself.)
