Blind faith
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1 NLT,)
If I asked you to tell me about your faith, how would you describe it? Knocked about? Weak? Vibrant? Mature? Growing? Non-existent?
Rick Warren says, “Faith is visualizing the future. It’s believing it BEFORE you see it.”
We might say, “I’ll believe it WHEN I see it! I will trust in God when I can see Him at work. I will believe He has good plans for me, when they have unfolded!”
God speaks out the opposite. He says “If you believe it, you will see it come to pass.”
That is a challenging way to live isn’t it?
Belief comes BEFORE blessing.
Trust comes before triumph.
Hope comes before the HOORAY!
Can I tell you a secret? I am learning that the kind of mindset that leaves faith untested does not attract the goodness of God at all! He loves our blind, trusting, child-like adventure-seeking faith.
Martin Luther King Jr is quoted as saying, “Faith is taking a step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
How can you take a step of faith today?
What is God asking you to trust Him about?
