“And behold, a voice out of the heavens saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight.”
We read these precious words in Matthew 3:17 (I’m using the under-rated and often very wondrous Darby Translation)
I have been dwelling on this in a number of different versions of Scripture.

Jesus was not yet ‘operating’ as the Messiah. He had not performed a single miracle, chosen a single disciple or spoken a single sermon (at least not that is recorded for us.)

God was therefore not pleased with Him (or IN Him, as some translations put it) because of what He had DONE, but in who He was. What does that tell you busy bees out there? Those of you who have woken up today feeling rubbish for not achieving what you set out to do yesterday…?

Guess what folks? Your Father delights in you anyway.
