On being brave
Being brave sometimes means crying.
Sometimes being brave means admitting you are wrong.
Sometimes being brave means laughing when others don’t laugh.
Sometimes being brave means admitting you were right after all.
Sometimes being brave means saying ” I don’t like it when…”
Being brave often means not doing what everyone else says, expects, thinks or does.
I have a feeling that for me 2011 is going to be a whole year of being brave – of stepping out, of not being all that comfortable, of not going with the flow…
I take great comfort in the spiritually accurate words of Winnie The Pooh when he said:
“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together.. there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart.. I’ll always be with you.”
I know a God who says stuff like that.
